Denise Oviedo

Meet Denise...
  1. Sunny day or rainy day? Rainy day, lounging with a good book. 

  2. If you could time travel, where would you go? I would go to 1800 Regency England and be a duke's daughter. 

  3. Favorite holiday? Christmas. 

  4. Hometown? Taylor, Texas. 

  5. High school mascot? Fighting Ducks. 

  6. If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead, who would it be? My brother who died when he was eleven. 

  7. If you didn’t work for the Foundation, where would you work? I would work for the Dallas Cowboys doing marketing. 

  8. Name three songs you would include on your soundtrack of life:

    - "I'll Be Home for Christmas" by Bing Crosby

  9. Favorite place to go in Lubbock: Watching the prairie dogs. 

  10. What came first – the chicken or the egg? Chicken. 

Denise Oviedo was named Director of Grants and Scholarships for the Community Foundation of West Texas in June 2015. Previously Oviedo served as the Executive Project Manager/Digital Media Manager where she focused on providing project management and led the Foundation in creating their social media presence. She brings with her a wide range of experience of more than ten years in non-profit work including programmatic activities, fundraising, grant-writing, media relations, online marketing and social media.

 

Denise Oviedo is a native Texan who came to Lubbock from a rural and farming community in Central Texas. Oviedo previously worked for the United States Congress in Washington, DC and the National Domestic Violence Hotline in Austin.  Denise volunteers with the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains.
