Thank you to everyone who attended the Lubbock Area Foundation’s Hero’s Luncheon on Thursday, August 14, 2014. It was a great success and we are so appreciative of all our friends and sponsors for sharing in our celebration of the Minnie & Arch Underwood family.
We could not have had such a successful event without the help of the Underwood family and our amazing Hero’s Planning Committee. We are grateful and appreciative of these individuals and staff giving so much of their time and energy to make the events successful: Co-Chairs: Martha Ann McDonald and Joe Love and George Nelson, Committee members: Charles Adams, Louise Cummins, Kathy Horkey-Wolff, Dan Hurley, Jeff Klotzman, Dean Loehr, Mack Owens, Bebe Petree, Nancy Henry Phillips, Norval Pollard, Tony Privett, Jouana Stravlo, Karen Wiley and Lynnette Wilson; staff members: Sheryl Cates, Tami Swoboda, Michelle Tosi-Stephens and Denise Oviedo. We also appreciate so much the work of the volunteers at the luncheon.
Kent Hance, Larry Combest and Davis Borden Price all did great work during the luncheon and we appreciate their participation in the luncheon.
The beautiful awards of an antique Pullman train car were generously provided by Todd Fields and Ann Winegar with Anderson Brothers. Thank you so much for such a memorable award.
A huge thank you to Underwood family members for their help on the committee and sharing their photos, videos, and stories of their loved ones: Louise Underwood, Jane Henry, Gwynne Juett, Pam and Fred Underwood, Laurin Prather, Tom and Sammie Prather, Rick Chambers, David and Heather Henry, and O’Neal Underwood.
And finally, thank you to Brad Moran, Jeff Klotzman, Ryan Detwiler, Carlos Iglesias, and Fox 34 News and Ramar Communications for the video created that was shown at the luncheon. Thank you also to friends of the Underwood family who participated in the video: Larry Combest, Alan Henry, Richard Jennings, David Langston, Mike McDonald and Windy Sitton.
