The Community Foundation of West Texas is proud to announce the funding of grants to three Plainview arts organizations and one animal organization totaling $40,557.50! These funds are from several endowments of the Community Foundation: Sybil B. Harrington Endowment for the Arts, the Ruth Wright Endowment for Animals, the Alice Virginia White Endowment for Dogs and Cats, and the Jimmie Nelson Endowment.
These grants are from field of interest funds which exist because donors have a passion for specific interests and organizations that provide services for the interests are eligible. The Sybil B. Harrington Endowment for the Arts was established to provide opportunities for the growth of the arts community and also assure the availability of diverse cultural experiences for the citizens of Lubbock and Hale counties. The Ruth Wright Endowment for Animals, the Alice Virginia White Endowment for Dogs and Cats, and the Jimmie Nelson Endowment were established for area organizations whose mission is to care for animals that are lost, abandoned or injured.
The 2018 arts and animal grant recipients are as follows:
New West Contemporary Art Museum - 2018 Programming
Plainview Community Concert Association - 5 Stellar Concerts
Plainview Symphony Orchestra - Music Engagement for Community Children
Paws Pet Adoption of Plainview - Operating Support and Vet Care
