2015 Grantee Luncheon

This year’s Grantee Luncheon was held at the Scottish Rite on August 13, 2015. The luncheon was a chance to honor grantees from 2014/2015, award Mini-Grants for Teachers for the 2015/2016 school year and make the exciting announcement about our name change. We are so honored to be able to support all our grantees. This past year, each grant funded has made a significant difference in Lubbock and the surrounding communities. This difference is seen in the way in which each organization provides services to meet the needs in our communities. The five impact areas of focus for the foundation are Arts & Culture, Animals, Basic Needs and Self Sufficiency, Education/Youth, Civic, Social and Econom

Special Announcement to Coincide with Annual Grantee Lunch Celebration

The Lubbock Area Foundation will make a special announcement as a part of the annual Grantee Luncheon celebration related to the future of the organization. The following five organizations will be awarded $500 grants and one Impact Award winner (TBA) will receive $1000. Xcel Energy Foundation makes donation

Recently, the Xcel Energy Foundation gave the Lubbock Area Foundation a grant of $3,000 to surrounding counties to promote strong communities. The Plainview Area Endowment, Levelland Area Endowment and Post-Garza County Endowment will each receive $1,000 of the $3,000 given from Xcel. It is the philosophy of Xcel to be a community partner with these affiliates to promote growth in the community making it a better place to learn, work and live. Over time this gift, and others like it, will increase the value of the Endowment, which in turn will provide more earnings for grants to the community.
