Garza County Trailblazers fed nearly 100 home-bound and congregate seniors in the community last year with funding from the Post-Garza County Endowment. Hot, nutritional meals were delivered five days a week and provided seniors with peace of mind. Every meal accounted for 1/3 of the dietary guidelines for people 60 years of age and older. Plainview Area Endowment Grant Story: City of Plainview
The City of Plainview replaced the asphalt cart paths with concrete at the Municipal Golf Course with a Plainview Area Endowment grant. The Golf Course hosts multiple tournaments a year, and Plainview tourists often use the facilities while visiting. CFWT Grant Story: Ringtail Ranch Lemur Rescue
With a Community Foundation of West Texas Animal Welfare grant, Ringtail Ranch Lemur Rescue installed three new windows in its lemur enclosure. The nonprofit says lemurs are “diurnal and seek sunlight to sunbathe in the mornings and afternoons. Slaton Area Endowment Grant Story: Communities in Schools on the South Plains
Communities in Schools on the South Plains (CIS-SP) used the grant from the Slaton Area Endowment to further its Emergency Fund. This emergency fund helps CIS-SP-registered low-income students and families with items including rent, bus passes, and medical care. The nonprofit assisted 420 students with the emergency funds.
