CH Foundation and Lubbock Area Foundation joining forces in unique collaboration

The CH Foundation and Lubbock Area Foundation, two of Lubbock’s best known philanthropic organizations, are joining forces in a unique collaboration that will help extend the legacies of both long-time community benefactors.

The two entities will break ground at 4 p.m., Monday, November 10, at StoneCrest Office Park (79th Street and Iola) on a new building that will serve as headquarters for both institutions in a one-of-a-kind partnership between a private foundation and a community foundation. Lubbock and area media are invited to attend this special ceremony.

“The CH Foundation is excited about the opportunity for both Foundations to be housed under the same roof, said Kay Sanford, Executive Director of the CH Foundation. “This building collaboration will allow each Foundation to continue its work independently.

“The CH Foundation believes that the timing is perfect for this unique building collaboration, as Lubbock continues to grow and thrive.”

Founded in 1979 by Christine DeVitt, The CH Foundation is a private, nonprofit grant-making foundation that provides funding and other support to significantly improve human services and cultural and educational opportunities. The Foundation supports initiatives driven by innovative, energetic leadership that are designed for long-term viability. Since 1992, the Foundation has granted more than $104 million and continues to be a major philanthropic institution serving the needs of the South Plains of Texas.
