CFWT Scholarship Spotlight: Eboni Adams

Cheryl Scott Thompson Scholarship recipient, Eboni Adams, graduated from Estacado High School in 2021. Eboni is now working toward a pre-nursing degree at Texas Tech University with hopes of getting involved in the healthcare industry. Eboni wrote, “I’ve always been interested in working in the health field.”

Eboni graduated from high school with 40 hours of college credit and with honors. At EHS, she was involved in the student council and volunteered at her church. She also enjoyed being a cheerleader and competing in track.

Below is an excerpt from the thank you note she wrote:

“To start, I want to let it be known how especially grateful I am to be given the Cheryl Scott Thompson Scholarship. It is not only an honor for me but for my family as well. We appreciate this great opportunity towards my education which puts me one step closer to achieving my lifelong goals. As a first-generation college student, I know the next couple of years will not only be a wonderful journey but a scary one too. It will never get any easier, but because of the Community Foundation of West Texas, my family, my success coaches, and previous educators, I know nothing is impossible.”
