LAF distributed $1.1 million in grants and scholarships in 2014

Every year, the Lubbock Area Foundation awards hundreds of grants to nonprofits across the south plains working to help those in need. These grants are given through our discretionary grants, donor-advised funds, Sybil Harrington Endowment for the Arts, and the Ruth Wright Endowment for Animals. LAF also awards Mini-Grants for Teachers to elementary and secondary school teachers to enable them to try out creative teaching techniques and buy enriching teaching materials which are not supported by school budgets.

We are proud to report that in 2014, the Lubbock Area Foundation distributed $1.1 million dollars in grant and scholarships throughout the South Plains. The list of nonprofits receiving grants from the Foundation this year are diverse and are all working hard to make a difference in the lives of those in the South Plains. The Foundation also awards scholarships to deserving students in the South Plains through numerous scholarships, including the Don & Sybil Harrington Scholarship. These students are all exception and we look forward to what they will do in the future.
