CFWT Mini-Grants for Teachers Story: Kingdom Come Ministries

With a Mini-Grant for Teachers from the Community Foundation of West Texas and Parkhill Building Community Fund, Kingdom Come Ministries expanded its support to 4 additional schools. The organization went from partnering with one school to five, four in Lubbock and one in Littlefield.

Kingdom Come Ministries provides school staff with physical, financial, and emotional resources. The organization reported, "The teachers are drained of time, energy, and resources, many of them spending their own money to help their students get what they need...We have certainly tried to lift the burden off of our friends in education." Kingdom Come Ministries supports school staff by hosting luncheons, providing encouragement for the office and administration and gifts for staff members once a month. They also act as a resource for the families that attend those schools and school staff by helping with rent, utilities, groceries, and uniforms.
